Verse of the day:
“But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”
-Romans 3:21-24, NIV
What is the Grace of God?
When first man Adam fell in sin, we all got infected by it. We are born as sinners and we naturally reveal the works of sin in our life. Sin rules over us in such a way that we are not able to differentiate between Good and Evil. All ways seem to be fine and working, though the results we achieve in our life are that of failure.
God wanted to save mankind, so He taught man His Law. By law, a human could understand the difference between Good and Evil, and thus it would help mankind to walk in the ways of God. Bible says in Deut 28, if you obey the Law you will be blessed, but if you disobey, you will be punished and cursed!
Every sin has a penalty and the price is Death. The Law of God could show the mistakes in person’s life and would demand for the payment of the penalty by compensating with an animal sacrifice, so that people don’t have to die of their sins, but would have the opportunity to repent. Even though the Law was suppose to save us, but the sinful nature in the flesh always made a person drown in the debts of penalty under the Law. The burden of sin was too much to bear and the overload of curse made man lose his hope and trust in God.
But God loved the world so much, that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, as a sacrifice for man’s sins. Jesus came into the world as a human and took every penalty on himself, became a curse for all and died the Death as required by the Law.
Last words of Jesus, before dying on the cross were, “It is finished!” It is finished my friend, the requirement of Law, the overload of curse, the burden of sin, the penalty of Death etc. Today you and I are free, because of the sacrifice of Jesus. We are now redeemed, made free, have attained salvation and forever forgiven. Your faith in Jesus enables you to receive this Grace of God.
Now that the penalty of God’s Law has been fulfilled, we are now blessed. We don’t ask God to bless us; instead we thank God for blessing us through sacrifice of Jesus! Remember Jesus took away our curse? Now the only thing left for us is Blessing.
Today if we have indecision in different matters of our life, we don’t sit down to calculate the probability of success in choosing a particular option, but by faith in Jesus, we are confident that what we choose, we will be blessed.
Understand this sequence: we don’t go to house of God, pray, read His Word or do good deeds so that we can receive Grace of God, but because first we have received Grace of God by faith in Jesus, so we go to house of God, pray, read His Word and do good deeds to praise Him and live fullness of life through Jesus.
Father God, I thank You for sending Jesus to save me. I have sinned and fallen short of Your glory, kindly wash my sins by the sacrifice of Jesus. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. I submit myself completely into Your hands; let Your will be done in my life. Amen
God bless you!
